A Sojourn in the Alps: Vikas’ Dream Switzerland Adventure Thrillophilia Review
Vikas, an adventurous soul, approached us with a clear vision for his European journey. “I have a few very specific experiences in mind that I wish to cover. Do you think you can accommodate?" he asked.
And trust me, we love when travellers come to us with their own plans- it gives us the chance to create something truly unique! Our team then curated a 13-day adventure across Switzerland and Italy, tailoring every detail to his preferences.
Here’s a glimpse into the journey that followed!
A Floating Serenade in Venice
Before heading towards the dreamy Swiss wonderland, Vikas planned a fun week across Italy, starting with Venice.
He hopped inside an iconic Gondola and glided across the Grand Canal on a Vaporetto, he felt a thrill wash over him. He admired the colourful buildings that lined the waterways, each telling a story of its own.
His first stop was the iconic Rialto Bridge. He joined a throng of tourists, all hovering to snap the perfect photo. “It’s even more stunning in person,” he murmured to himself, mesmerised by the view of gondolas bobbing gently below.
A local vendor caught his eye, selling fresh strawberries, and he couldn’t resist treating himself. “Best strawberries ever!” he declared, savouring the sweetness while watching the bustling scene around him.
Wandering deeper into the maze of narrow streets, Vikas found himself in a small trattoria, indulging in a plate of spaghetti alle vongole. “This is pure bliss,” he said, closing his eyes as he relished the blend of flavours. With a glass of local wine in hand, he felt a sense of belonging in this vibrant city.
As dusk settled, Vikas took a gondola ride through the quiet canals. The gentle lapping of water against the boat was soothing, and he felt at peace, surrounded by the soft glow of lanterns illuminating the canals.
“This is a moment I’ll cherish forever,” he thought, knowing Venice had woven its magic into the fabric of his journey.
Strolling Through Rome
Vikas's journey through Rome began in the shadow of the Colosseum, where he felt the weight of history envelop him. Standing before the ancient structure, he marvelled at the gladiators who once fought here.
He joined a guided tour, listening intently as the guide painted vivid tales of bravery and bloodshed. “Imagine the roar of the crowd,” he mused, as he walked through the arches that had seen centuries of drama unfold.
Afterwards, Vikas walked through the cobblestone streets, drawn by the aroma of freshly baked pizza. He even stopped at a local pizzeria, where the chef tossed the dough in the air while singing a melody which made him order a fresh Margherita slice.
As the sun began to set, Vikas made his way to the Trevi Fountain. He tossed a coin over his shoulder, whispering a wish, and watched as the fountain sparkled in the twilight.
Swiss Adventure in a Nutshell
Vikas's Swiss journey began in Zurich, where the city felt alive with a vibrant energy. He strolled along the Limmat River, admiring the colourful buildings and the distant Alps.
The quaint cafés beckoned him, and he sipped a rich hot chocolate, watching people pass by. A street musician nearby played a lively tune, drawing a small crowd. The welcoming atmosphere pulled him in, and he couldn’t resist tapping his feet to the rhythm.
Eager to see more, Vikas hopped on a boat headed to Rhine Falls. As he approached, the roar of the cascading water grew louder, filling him with anticipation. The sight was breathtaking- a thundering wall of water plunging into the river below.
The next day, he started early for Jungfraujoch, the famous "Top of Europe." The train carried him through picturesque landscapes, with valleys and peaks stretching toward the sky. Arriving at the summit, Vikas stepped into a winter wonderland, the chill invigorating him. He marvelled at the Ice Palace, taking in the intricate sculptures, and snapped photos with the imposing glacier in the background. “I could stay here forever,” he thought, breathing in the crisp, fresh air.
He ended his journey in Grindelwald, where the Glacier Canyon awaited. He wandered along the scenic paths, taking in the stunning rock formations.
Later, he took a short hike to Giessbach Waterfall, where the cascading water sparkled in the sunlight. He found a quiet spot, closed his eyes, and let the sounds of nature wash over him, feeling grateful for the beauty surrounding him.
