Paris Through Shobha’s Eyes: A Family Journey Full of Wonder and Charm

Paris Through Shobha’s Eyes: A Family Journey Full of Wonder and Charm

The excitement in our house reached its peak when we decided to go to Paris for our family trip. All of us were buzzing with energy while preparing for our long-awaited trip.

My husband was busy checking his passport for the hundredth time, while our son couldn’t decide between his favourite shoes. We were all talking about what to wear, what snacks to pack, and what to do once we landed. But in the midst of all the chaos, we were glad that we didn’t have to worry about the logistics of the trip, because Thrillophilia had already taken care of everything. From the airport transfers to the city tours, everything was already planned.

We had booked our holiday package through Thrillophilia, and honestly, it was the best decision we made. The ease of booking, the detailed itineraries, the tickets and the fantastic guides made everything seamless. Our only job was to pack our bags and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!

The City of Dreams!

We kicked off our Parisian adventure with a Hop-on-Hop-off bus tour. It was a fantastic way to get an overview of the city, and my son was thrilled to sit on the upper deck of the bus. We passed by iconic landmarks like the Tour Eiffel, the majestic Opéra Garnier, and the stunning Louvre-Pyramid.

The bus took us to the Champs-Elysées, where we marvelled at the Grand Palais and Trocadéro. It was surreal to see these places in person, and I was struck by how beautiful and grand everything looked. By the end of the tour we hopped off at Notre-Dame and Musée d'Orsay, where we soaked in the culture and history.

However, for me, the highlight was undoubtedly the River Seine cruise. As the boat sailed down the river, we enjoyed a delicious dinner on board while admiring the city’s sparkling lights. My son was fascinated by the bridges, and my husband and I held hands, taking in the magical atmosphere.

The iconic Eiffel Tower sparkled in the distance, and we felt like we were living in a movie. The gentle breeze, the stunning views, and the peaceful moments made this evening unforgettable.

A Magical Day at Disneyland

The next day, we headed to Disneyland, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of magical. The excitement was contagious as we entered the park, being greeted by Mickey and Minnie Mouse. We spent the entire day exploring the park, riding roller coasters, and meeting our favourite cartoon characters. It was like stepping into a world of pure joy.

We rode the Space Mountain, where I screamed louder than my son (which he found hilarious). My husband was a little nervous about the roller coasters, but I convinced him to try the Indiana Jones ride, and he ended up loving it! We had lunch at one of the park’s charming cafés, where we tried delicious French pastries and sandwiches. To give a perfect ending to this already beautiful day, we ordered a Mickey-shaped ice cream, and of course, it was delicious.

Exploring Zurich’s Charm

After our Parisian adventure, we hopped on a flight to Zurich, Switzerland. Our first stop was Lake Lucerne, and I was in awe of its beauty. The lake, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, looked like something straight out of a postcard. My son and I had a blast feeding the ducks, while my husband took a moment to admire the serenity of the place.

Next, we visited the Lion Monument, a tribute to Swiss Guards who died during the French Revolution. The monument was impressive, and we spent some time reading about its history. After a leisurely walk around the city, we made our way to Engelberg, a picturesque village nestled in the Swiss Alps. The views were breathtaking, and we felt like we had stepped into a winter wonderland. It was a peaceful exploration, and we all agreed that Zurich had a unique charm that was unlike any other place we had visited.

Thrills at Mt. Titlis

Reaching Mt. Titlis was an adventure in itself- a cable car to the top. As we ascended higher and higher, we could see the snow-covered peaks and valleys below. When we reached the summit, we were greeted with surreal views of the snow-covered peaks and valleys.

We rode the Ice Flyer chairlift, which took us even higher, offering prettier views than before. We also ventured into the Titlis Cliff Walk, the highest suspension bridge in Europe. Walking across it was both thrilling and terrifying, but the views were worth every step. We also explored the Glacier Cave, which was like stepping into a frozen world. My son was fascinated by the ice sculptures, and my husband and I couldn’t stop snapping photos.

Post-Trip Reflections

On our flight back home, I couldn’t help but reflect on the incredible journey we had just experienced. From the magical streets of Paris to the serene beauty of Switzerland, every moment has been a gift. We laughed, we explored, and most importantly, we created memories that would last a lifetime. Thrillophilia had made this trip so much easier, and we were grateful for the seamless planning and unforgettable experiences.

This trip, with my two favourite people, was a reminder of how lucky I am to have them by my side. So, here’s to more adventures, more memories, and more family trips with Thrillophilia!
