Falling in Love; All Over, Again: Sai’s Bali Honeymoon Review with Thrillophilia
"I want a place where we can experience everything—mountains, beaches, wildlife, adventure, and culture…" said my wife once when we were planning where to go for our honeymoon after our marriage.
And that’s exactly what I wanted too, for her- to see her in awe of the world, to experience it all together. I booked a honeymoon trip to Bali with Thrillophilia who arranged everything for us.
When we landed in Bali for our honeymoon, I knew we’d found that place. A place that, like her, had so many layers of beauty, adventure, calm, and spirit.
Love at First Sight (Again)
The moment we touched down at Bali International Airport, I couldn’t stop looking at her. Even after all these years, she had that effect on me. Her eyes were full of wonder, her smile making the island itself look like a backdrop to her beauty.
After a short drive, we arrived at our hotel- our home for the next week. It was perfect. But we didn’t stay still for long, because we had a sunset to catch at Tanah Lot. As we reached the cliffs, the temple stood tall, proud against the setting sun. The sky was painted in colours of orange and pink, as if the universe itself was celebrating our love.
"Look at this," she whispered, her fingers intertwined with mine. We stood there, just watching the sky, feeling like time had stopped for us.
The sun slowly descended, and I couldn’t help but think, "I’m the luckiest man in the world."
Adventure in Her Eyes
Day two came with more adventure than we ever could’ve imagined. I remember the look in her eyes when we geared up for the ATV ride. "Are you sure you can handle this?" she teased, and I couldn’t help but laugh. "I’ll go anywhere with you." And I meant it.
As we raced through the jungle, navigating mud tracks and bamboo forests, her laughter echoed through the air. I could feel her arms wrapped tightly around me, as we bounced along the bumpy trail.
There was something so special about experiencing this side of her- free, wild, and filled with joy.
Then came the Bali Jungle Swing. We were suspended above the endless green valleys, the wind rushing past us as we soared. She leaned back, her hair flying wildly, her smile as wide as the horizon.
"I feel like I’m flying!" she giggled, and at that moment, I fell in love with her all over again. Bali’s beauty was incomparable, but nothing could compete with her- my wife, my world.
Love in Every Corner
On the third day, we ventured into the heart of Bali, visiting places that held the island’s spirit. Everything around us- the mountains, the lake, the cool breeze- it all felt like an extension of the love I felt for her. In moments like these, I realised how lucky I was to have someone who made even the simplest moments feel extraordinary.
Next, we strolled through Ubud. We wandered through the Ubud Market, hand in hand, picking up trinkets and souvenirs. I watched her pick up small, delicate items. "This is for us," she said, holding up a small wooden carving.
At the Tegalalang Rice Terraces, I paused for a moment, just watching her take it all in. The way she admired the world around her mirrored how I admired her- her grace, her kindness, her love.
Day four took us deeper into Bali’s natural beauty. The Handara Gate was stunning, but it was her excitement about seeing the Banyumala Waterfall that stayed with me. We hiked down the path, the sound of the waterfall growing louder with each step.
Finally, we arrived. The waterfall cascaded down in front of us. She stood there, mesmerised, her face glowing with wonder.
With you by my side, everything feels alright!
Our last few days were full of adventure and romance. We went jet skiing, parasailing, and rode the banana boat like excited teenagers at Benoa Beach. Her laughter filled the air as we splashed through the waves. We ended that day at Uluwatu Temple, watching the Kecak Fire Dance, the flames dancing as fiercely as our love.
On our final day, we visited Nusa Penida, which was a nightmare! We lost our passports and seeing my wife panic made me really worried. We had a flight to catch the next morning and had no clue what to do.
But then our driver came to rescue. He shared the photo in his group and when we had lost all hopes, our luck clicked. A tourist had seen our passports on the beach and handed them over to his driver who happened to be our driver’s friend.
‘I told you not to worry, right? Nothing can go wrong when we are together’, I said.
As we prepared to leave Bali, I looked at her, my heart filled with gratitude.Bali had given us more than memories- it had given us moments that would forever be etched in our hearts.
"Wherever we go from here, "you’ll always be my forever.", I said to her!
