Arun’s Aussie Adventure: Exploring the Land Down Under with Thrillophilia
Australia had always been one of those dream destinations Arun and his family talked about visiting someday. This was the story of turning that someday into a reality.
For the first time ever, Arun’s family, whom he lovingly calls the ultimate last-minute packers, actually had their bags ready days before the trip. The excitement was sky-high.
From the moment they touched down in Melbourne to the last night spent cruising through Sydney’s stunning harbour, every moment was a new adventure. The trip turned out to be so much more than just sightseeing. It became an opportunity to spend quality time together and create lasting memories.
Arun’s journey unfolded with many thrills and highlights as he explored Australia.
Melbourne: Where it All Began!
The first stop was Melbourne, a city that immediately charmed the family with its mix of history and modern vibes. Since it was their first day, they decided to take things slow to recover from jet lag and prepare for the adventures ahead.
After settling in at the hotel, the family left for a tour of the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Arun, being a huge cricket fanatic, considered this a dream come true. While wandering through the iconic stadium, he thought about all the epic cricketing moments that took place there. His favourite highlight was India’s victory against the West Indies by 59 runs, all thanks to Kapil Dev.
After the nostalgic MCG tour, the family explored Federation Square, admired Victorian architecture, and tried some delicious local food. The evening ended perfectly with a visit to the Eureka Skydeck.
Arun’s jaw dropped at the stunning beauty of Melbourne from the observation deck. The city sparkled at night, and it was truly a mesmerising sight.
Self-Drive to the Great Ocean Road
Arun had requested a personalised itinerary that included a self-drive experience. Thrillophilia provided a beautiful car that suited the family of four perfectly.
The family set out for the Great Ocean Road.
It turned out to be one of the most picturesque car journeys of Arun’s life. The joy of driving himself along with the presence of his beloved family made the experience even more special. They also made sure to check out all the 12 Apostles which were the main attraction of the route.
Yarra Valley: A Morning in the Skies…
This was the day Arun’s kids had been eagerly waiting for since day one. It was time to visit the gorgeous Yarra Valley and try a hot air balloon ride for the first time.
Everyone woke up early and, surprisingly, everyone was ready on time, something quite unusual in their household.
Arun felt that Yarra Valley was one of the most beautiful locations they visited. The greenery, giant mountains, and vast fields made the place look unreal. He was confident the hot air balloon ride was going to be phenomenal.
As the balloon ascended into the sky, the views grew more breathtaking. At one point, they could see the entire Yarra Valley and its majestic surroundings. Arun had never seen a view this extraordinary before and it left him speechless.
The family then headed toward nearby vineyards for a wine tasting session. The kids spent time playing in the fields while Arun and his wife tasted some of the finest wines of the region such as Yarra Valley Shiraz, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay.
It became another one-of-a-kind experience on this memorable trip.
Beneath the Waves..
The adventure continued with a dive into the Great Barrier Reef.
The day began with a guided tour of the reef. The family learned interesting facts such as it being the world’s largest reef system with more than 3000 individual reefs. They also discovered that the reef was millions of years old and home to prehistoric marine creatures.
Hearing these facts, their excitement only grew.
Arun admitted it was quite scary at first, especially since he was responsible for his family. He appreciated the experienced guides who made the experience safe and comfortable.
By overcoming his fear, he discovered an underwater world that was incredibly beautiful. Witnessing the Great Barrier Reef with his own eyes felt surreal. It seemed like the family had stepped into a different world that was colourful and full of unique marine life.
Sydney’s Greatest Hits!
The family spent a good amount of time in Sydney exploring popular tourist spots, experiencing the local culture, trying different delicacies, and enjoying fun activities.
Some of Arun’s favourites were the Sydney Opera House, the Blue Mountains, and Bondi Beach. The city tour felt wholesome with a mix of modern attractions, natural wonders, and relaxed time at the beaches.
No trip to the land of kangaroos would be complete without meeting the iconic animals. The family not only saw them but also got a chance to feed them, which was a delightful experience.
The trip also included a whale-watching tour which became a major highlight. The tour began near the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Out in the open ocean, their guide suddenly exclaimed for everyone to look. Arun zoomed in with his binoculars and witnessed two giant humpback whales playing together. It was a moment beyond his wildest imagination.
Arun’s trip to Australia turned out to be epic. Every moment was filled with excitement and thrill, leaving the family with unforgettable memories. Arun believes that if anyone is looking for the ultimate adventure destination, Australia is the perfect answer.
