Two Friends, One Refreshing Escape: Swati’s Kerala Trip Review with Thrillophilia
Two friends set out to find peace in Kerala’s light. Through waterfalls and forests, everything felt right. The hills welcomed them softly, the waters whispered low; in God’s Own Country, time seemed to slow. Each sunrise brought calm, each sunset carried grace, and Kerala wrapped them gently in its warm embrace.
In the midst of busy lives and constant routines, Swati Verma and her friend decided to take a break that felt well deserved. Kerala had been on their minds for a long time, and this trip became the perfect way to unwind, breathe freely and collect memories that would stay with them forever.
Kochi to Munnar: Waterfalls, Hills and Fresh Air

The trip began when the driver picked them up from Kochi Airport with a warm smile.
“Welcome to Kerala. Let us begin your journey,” he said kindly.
As they drove toward Munnar, the scenery unfolded slowly like pages in a nature book. Lush greenery. Endless trees. Cool air. The first major stop came at the Valara and Cheeyappara waterfalls. Misty spray drifted through the air as water cascaded down rocky slopes.
Swati took a deep breath and said, “This is exactly the peace I was hoping for.”
They also stopped at the famous Athirappilly Waterfall, known for its grand drop and its appearance in many films. The roar of the water mixed with the cool wind made them feel instantly refreshed.
By evening, they reached their hotel in Munnar. The greenery around the property felt like a gentle welcome.
“We are going to sleep so well tonight,” her friend said with a smile.
Munnar Sightseeing: Tea Gardens and Mountain Views

The next day, after breakfast, the driver picked them up for a full day of sightseeing around Munnar, one of Kerala’s prettiest hill towns.
Their first stop was the spice plantations. The earthy smell of pepper, cardamom and cloves filled the air. A friendly guide explained the uses of each spice.
“You see these leaves,” he said, handing them a twig. “Kerala’s flavours begin here.”
Next came the iconic tea gardens. The hills rolled out in green waves. Workers plucked leaves with practised movements. Swati captured photo after photo, saying, “Every frame here looks perfect.”
They continued their journey to scenic spots like Blossom Park, Mattupetty Lake, Echo Point and Kundale Lake. The cool breeze, the distant mountains and the quiet surroundings made the entire day soft and peaceful.
By evening, they returned to their hotel, tired yet content.
Munnar to Thekkady: Forests and the Call of Wildlife
The next morning, they left for Thekkady, where the vibe changed from hills to dense forests. Their hotel was nestled among tall trees, giving them a close connection to nature.
After checking in, they headed for a sightseeing tour. The highlight of the day was the Periyar Lake experience. They enjoyed a slow, steady boat ride across the lake that cuts through the Periyar National Park. The water reflected the trees like a mirror. Birds flew low. The forest spread silently around them.
Swati whispered, “This is peaceful in a way I cannot describe.”
They then explored more options like a jeep safari, elephant ride and short walks in the forest area. In the evening, they visited Thekkady’s local market, picking up spices and souvenirs.
The day ended at their hotel, surrounded by the soft sounds of the jungle.
Thekkady to Alleppey: Sailing Through Quiet Backwaters

After breakfast, the friends checked out and made their way to Alleppey, the famous land of Kerala’s backwaters. When they saw their private houseboat, their faces lit up instantly.
“This is beautiful,” Swati said, stepping inside.
They settled into their room and soon began sailing across the peaceful canals of Alleppey and Kumarakom. The gentle movement of the boat, the reflection of coconut trees in the water and the slow rhythm of village life felt calming.
They passed traditional homes, fishermen in wooden boats and narrow waterways covered with floating plants. A houseboat staff member said warmly, “Tonight, you will sleep on water. It is the best feeling.”
Lunch, tea and dinner on the boat were served with hospitality. As evening arrived and the boat anchored, the sky turned pink, orange and lavender. Swati whispered, “This is the most beautiful part of the trip.”
They spent the night on the water, wrapped in peace.
Alleppey to Kochi: A Sweet Ending
The next morning, after breakfast on the houseboat, they checked out with a sense of satisfaction. The driver picked them up for their journey back to Kochi.
On the way, they visited Fort Kochi, with its historic streets, iconic fishing nets and seaside walkways. They also explored Marine Drive, enjoying the gentle wind and calm waters.
Swati and her friend soaked in each final moment before the driver dropped them at the airport.
“This trip was everything we hoped for,” her friend said softly.
Swati nodded, “And more.”
A Note of Gratitude
Reflecting on the entire journey, Swati shared:
“We had an exceptional experience with Thrillophilia. Deepika from the ground team was very cooperative. The trip was fantastic, and we enjoyed every moment. Highly recommended.”
Kerala gave them not just sights to admire but peace to carry back home. For two friends travelling together, it became a heartfelt escape filled with nature, comfort and unforgettable memories.
