Wrapping up the Year in Style: Sushil’s Singapore Trip Review with Thrillophilia
New Year was round the corner and it was time to plan the last trip of the year!
When I sat down with my family to plan our vacation, Singapore was a unanimous choice. The bustling city, known for its family-friendly attractions, beautiful skyline, and rich culture, seemed perfect for our long-awaited holiday. With all the family members full of zeal, I was eager to explore Singapore’s modern wonders and rich experiences.
After researching various options, we decided to book our trip through Thrillophilia, trusting the platform and its numerous Singapore reviews we read online. Our excitement grew as the departure date neared, imagining all the iconic spots we would soon visit- from Universal Studios to Sentosa Island and the Marina Bay Sands.
When we landed in Singapore, the ‘Lion City’, we were immediately struck by its next-gen infrastructure. After the formalities of check-in, we had some time to relax and soak in the energy of this capital city.
Venturing into the Night Safari
That evening, we set out for an experience unlike any other – Singapore’s famed Night Safari.
We weren’t sure what to expect but knew it was going to be special. This nocturnal zoo is a hidden gem, home to more than 2,500 animals from over 100 species. As the tram took us through the dimly lit wilderness, we were thrilled by sightings of Asian elephants, Malayan tigers, and elusive creatures like the flying squirrel and Malayan tapir.
But, the zoo was not just about animals; there were several cultural shows, including fire dancers and tribal performances, which added a cultural depth to the experience altogether. It was surreal to see such a variety of wildlife in an environment that felt more like a natural sanctuary than a zoo.
Thrills at Universal Studios Singapore
The next day began with excitement as we set off for Sentosa Island to visit Universal Studios. Being movie buffs, this was one of the highlights of our trip. The park is divided into various zones, each representing iconic movie settings like Ancient Egypt, Hollywood, and Far Far Away.
All of these rides were too much fun especially the dueling coasters in Sci-Fi City – every twist, turn, and near collision had us screaming, literally.
But Universal Studios is not just about the thrills. We had the chance to meet and take pictures with beloved characters from movies and cartoons. The Hollywood Dreams Light Up Parade in the evening was the cherry on top. The floats featuring popular characters lit up the streets while performers danced to energetic beats.
We ended the day feeling like we had traveled through different worlds in just a few hours- a feeling that only Universal Studios can offer.
Exploring Iconic Landmarks
We also embarked on a half-day city tour to get a feel for the landmarks that define Singapore. Our first stop was the Merlion Park, where we couldn’t resist the cliché but iconic photo with the famous Merlion statue– a symbol of Singapore’s beginnings as a fishing village.
We continued to the Marina Bay Sands area, where the striking architecture of the buildings took our breath away. Walking across the futuristic Helix Bridge, we could see spectacular views of the bay. The Fountain of Wealth, nestled in Suntec City, was another highlight, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune.
Our day ended at the Singapore Flyer, a giant observation wheel offering stunning panoramic views of the city. Watching the sunset from such a high viewpoint was the perfect way to conclude our city tour.
As night fell, we treated ourselves to some shopping and had the tastiest snack from a local vendor before returning to the hotel.
A Day of Fun at Sentosa Island
Another thrilling day kicked off as we hopped on the cable car to Sentosa Island! The panoramic views of the city from the top and sparkling coastline from high above were absolutely breathtaking.
Sentosa, famous for its charming beaches and world famous attractions, had us excited from the moment we arrived. And trust me, it didn’t disappoint!
Our first stop was Madame Tussauds, where we clicked pictures with lifelike wax figures of famous personalities. The interactive experience made us feel like celebrities ourselves, especially with the Ultimate Film Star Experience, where we got to play out scenes from Indian cinema.
As the sun began to set, we made our way to Wings of Time, a spectacular light show that left us speechless. The combination of pyrotechnics, lasers, and fountains dancing to music was the best end to the day.
As we boarded the flight back home, our hearts were filled with satisfaction and gratitude. Singapore had been everything we dreamed of and more– a perfect holiday of adventure, culture, and relaxation. From the thrilling rides at Universal Studios to the peaceful beauty of Marina Bay Sands, every moment was a memory to cherish.
This trip brought us closer as a family, leaving us with stories to tell for years to come. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the year.
