Sumeet’s Switzerland Trip Through Mountains, Castles & Eiffel Tower with Thrillophilia
Sumeet and his wife had always talked about going to Switzerland. It was one of those dreams they kept putting off because life gets in the way. But they finally decided to go for it in October 2022.
They booked a trip to Switzerland and Paris through Thrillophilia. And honestly, it was one of the best decisions they ever made.
Starting Off in Zurich
As soon as they came out of the Zurich airport, it felt peaceful all around. Their driver was right there when they landed, and soon, he checked into their hotel. It was the first day, so they did not rush anything. They just took a moment to rest, grab a bite, and take in the fact that they had actually made it.
The next day, they headed out to explore Zurich. The city was calm, welcoming, and effortlessly beautiful. Everyone they met there was kind, and every turn offered beautiful views.

They also took a 2-hour boat ride across Lake Zurich. It was a slow and relaxing 2-hour journey on the water. They passed tiny villages and beautiful houses by the water. Sumeet’s wife held his hand and said, “The beauty of this place is just magnificent.”
They stopped at a little town called Rapperswil. Someone had mentioned its old castle, so they decided to check it out, and it turned out to be one of the prettiest spots of the day. On their way back, they took the train and were amazed by how smooth and simple everything was.
In the evening, they had dinner at a cosy restaurant by the lake. “We finally made it,” Sumeet said. She smiled and replied, “Yes, and it is already worth it.”
Snowy Peaks and Storybook Cities
On the third day, they left Zurich to explore the Swiss countryside. It was the day they had been talking about for weeks. They were finally travelling to the Alps, the cable cars, and the fresh mountain air.

They arrived in the lovely mountain village of Grindelwald. From there, they took a cable car up into the Alps. As they climbed higher, Sumeet’s wife was staring out of the window like a kid. Soon, the snow-covered peaks appeared in front of them, and the bright green valleys below looked spectacular.
At the top, they crossed a narrow bridge called the “footbridge over the empty”. It hangs over a deep valley. His wife held his hand tightly. “Are you sure about this?” she asked with a nervous laugh. “We have come this far,” he said, and they took the first step together. It was scary and thrilling at the same time. They felt like standing on the edge of the world as they were surrounded by glaciers.
Lunch was served up there, with the Alps around them. Every bite felt special because of the view.

Later in the day, they visited Lucerne, and Sumeet could honestly say it is one of the prettiest cities they have ever seen. They were amazed to see the wooden Chapel Bridge, swans on the lake, and the cobbled streets. They took it slow, bought some souvenirs, and just enjoyed being there.
A Change of Scenery from Bern to Paris
The next morning, they went to Bern, the capital of Switzerland. It had an older and more traditional feel compared to Zurich. They walked through its old town and crossed a few bridges over the river. The whole place looked timeless with its beauty.
In the afternoon, they boarded a train to Paris. As they passed the clean lakes and green hills, Sumeet looked at his wife and said, “We are really doing this.” She smiled, and he could see the excitement in her eyes.

They reached Paris in the evening. They could feel the energy of the city, even from the cab window. And when they saw the glowing Eiffel Tower in the distance, they were delighted.
Palaces and Art in Paris
They visited the Palace of Versailles on their first day in Paris. The gold gates, giant mirrors, and gorgeous gardens were unbelievable. Sumeet’s wife could not stop admiring the paintings and little details in every room, while he was more surprised to know about the history these walls had seen.
In Montmartre, they took the funicular ride up the hill and saw the whole city from above. Then, they ate their lunch at a small cafe and just enjoyed the view.

They joined a walking tour in the afternoon and got to see some of the landmarks they had only read about. Seeing the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, and the Seine River in person was a different experience.
The Dream Come True Experience at the Eiffel Tower
They started their last day of the trip with the gorgeous Eiffel Tower. As soon as they stood under it, they felt emotional. They had seen it in photos forever, but now they were right there.
They took the elevator up to the second level of the attraction, and as soon as they stepped out, the view was incredible. Paris was laid out beneath them, with rooftops, tree-lined streets, and little parks as far as they could see.
With this, their trip came to an end. They are highly grateful to the team at Thrillophilia for making it so special.
