Saksham’s Filmy Honeymoon Trip with Thrillophilia- The Bollywood Style!

The tunes of "Na tum jaano na hum…” played in the background, and Hrithik Roshan seemed to stand with an orange muffler around his neck, waiting for his heroine, Ameesha Patel. The background of Mount Titlis shrouded in snow brought the scene back to life.

The only difference was that it was not Hrithik Roshan, it was Saksham waiting for his wife at the cable car station to board the ropeway and reach the top of this iconic peak.

Cut!

Back to reality.

That was quite a scene, perhaps a better and more realistic one than Bollywood, but based on their honeymoon!

They went on a trip to Switzerland for their honeymoon, and they could not help but reimagine themselves as the actors in a Bollywood movie, travelling through their dream destination. Their motive was to find the best chocolates, to love and to live all the cinematic moments as shown in so many movies they watched while growing up.

Honestly, that was exactly where Saksham’s idea of romance, ‘dream destinations’, and the urge to have a ‘cinematic honeymoon’ came from. The movies, of course, with Hrithik, Shah Rukh, Salman, and Amir leading their fantasies. Not to forget Preeti Zinta, Diya Mirza, Kareena Kapoor, and Priyanka Chopra!

Anyway, there they were, living just what they wanted to live as kids, posing for pictures on the cable ride of Mount Titlis with the love of his life, his wife!

The On-Screen Scenes

The topmost scene Saksham could think of at that moment was surely the time they went for the Grindelwald cable car ride. Although he was not a big fan of Harry Potter, his wife was, and seeing this peak made her jump with joy! Nothing about the mountain excited her; it was just the name that gave her the shivers.

In reality, it was a majestic peak, standing tall in white, casting a glow of beauty throughout the expanse around it! Even a tiny cup of coffee at that height felt heavenly. But,

The next part of the journey needed them to walk along a winding path that led to a suspended bridge, below which there were glaciers all around!

It was as scary as it was mesmerising. It would have made for a perfect James Bond scene, but they were happy with Bollywood and chose not to walk on the bridge.

Next up, they went to Lucerne, whose mediaeval charm almost swept the present from beneath their feet, landing them in the sets of Bachna Ae Haseeno! They felt like flocking around just like Ranbir Kapoor and Minissha Lamba through the town, but they knew better.

Instead, they went for a nice food tour around the place, topping it up with a chocolate-tasting spree! Their guide suggested otherwise, saying they could take an entire day in Zurich for food touring, but there were more important attractions in Lucerne that could bring out the true charm of Switzerland, like a short sightseeing session followed by a chocolate tour.

Impressed, they took his suggestion and went to the Chapel Bridge first. Truly, after such a long day touring Mount Grindelwald and Mount Titlis, this was a much-needed respite. No, they did not feel like role-playing as movie characters at that moment; they just held hands and walked on the bridge like an ordinary couple in love.

Then, they headed to all the factories for sampling, only to find themselves coming out of each of them with a handful of toffees and bars. They had not realised that their inner Charlie (from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) had come out seeing all those chocolate fountains and sculptures! They could not be happier, and their teeth could not be more chocolatier. By the time they reached their hotel in Zurich, two out of the five bags of chocolates were finished.

Don’t judge them; anyone would have done the same in their place!

ZURICH ZURICH ZURICH!
Food tour, food tour, food tour.

This was perhaps one day when they had enough time to relax with each other and explore the cuisine. They headed out for a street food spree, starting with Cheese Fondue, Rosti, and Raclette. In between, they stopped for some Swiss ice creams, spending time admiring the age-old streets and buildings of the city.

Finally, they went to a nice cafe for dinner and tried Wiediker, the cult sausage, Geschnetzeltes, and then wrapped their gastronomic adventure with a full platter of Luxemburgerli.

That was all they did that day. Eat and sleep.

Behind The Scenes!
They reached the UNESCO Heritage Site of the Old Town of Bern from Zurich, visited the Bern Cathedral, took a stroll around the Aare River, and then the famous Bear Pit.

Because of a high fever, Saksham was taking it slow, thinking less of recreating the Bollywood scenes and focusing more on getting better so that they could enjoy the trip. Anyway, the trip had almost come to an end, so only the conclusion of the movie was left.

They were just on the train heading back for their departure to India, and the scenery passing by reminded him of scenes from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, serene, picturesque, and too beautiful to be on earth.

No doubt, Switzerland is often regarded as stunning as paradise!

He did not realise that he was thinking all these things out loud. Then he looked at his wife, and he saw that she had been listening patiently. After he had finished, she could not help but laugh.

Saksham, on the other hand, could not help but smile gleefully and sheepishly.

He loved this honeymoon trip; it was exactly like the one he had imagined!

Perhaps even better than any Bollywood movie.
