Rati’s Honeymoon Paradise in Seychelles with Thrillophilia

I always believed that some journeys are written in the stars long before we take them. Our honeymoon to Seychelles was one of those.
Sitting on our rooftop in Mumbai a few months before our wedding, my husband and I had made a quiet promise to each other. The city lights twinkled around us, but our dreams stretched far beyond.
"Somewhere with the ocean," my husband had said, his fingers lacing through mine.
"Somewhere where time slows down," I had whispered back.
For our honeymoon journey, we wanted a memory that would forever smell of salt, sound like waves, and feel like love. And when we found ourselves gliding over the turquoise waters of Seychelles, our fingers intertwined as we landed in Mahe, I knew - we had chosen right.
Island Hopping & Love Letters from the Sea

The moment we stepped onto Praslin, the second-largest island of Seychelles, it felt as if the world had been dipped in colours we had never seen before. The ocean here was sapphire, turquoise, and emerald all at once. The white sands stretched endlessly, soft as flour beneath our feet.
As our car drove us to our hotel, my husband squeezed my hand. "Can you believe this?" he whispered.

We spent our first day at leisure, walking hand in hand at Cote d’Or Beach and letting the waves chase our footprints. The world around us had calmed down, allowing just the two of us to exist in a bubble of love.
At Anse Lazio, we watched the sun paint the sky in hues of fire and gold. "If heaven had a beach, this would be it," my husband murmured. The salty breeze carried the warmth of his words, and I knew, at that moment, we were exactly where we were meant to be.
Bicycles, Hidden Coves & the Magic of La Digue

The next morning, we took a ferry to La Digue, a tiny island where time seemed to move at its own slow rhythm. The moment we picked up our bicycles, I felt a rush of childlike joy.
"Race you to the beach!" my husband grinned, taking off before I could respond.
We cycled through coconut groves, past vanilla plantations, and down narrow sandy paths until we reached Anse Source d’Argent. On this beach, tall granite boulders framed the shore, the water shimmered like liquid glass, and we felt as if we had stumbled upon a secret paradise.

We spent hours exploring hidden coves and our laughter blended with the sound of crashing waves. At L’Union Estate, we traced the history of the island and learnt about the plantation life of old Seychelles.
That evening, as we sat by the water, feet buried in the sand, my husband handed me a tiny seashell. "For our memory jar," he said.
I smiled, knowing that long after this trip ended, we would carry little pieces of Seychelles with us - some in our suitcase, but most in our hearts.
Giant Tortoises, Crimson Sunsets & the Language of the Ocean

Day three was a lesson in slowing down. We set off to explore Cousin, Curieuse, and St. Pierre Islands, each one of them more mesmerising than the last.
On Cousin Island, nature truly ruled. We walked among wild birds and spotted Hawksbill turtles nesting along the shore. Curieuse Island stole our hearts with its ancient Aldabra tortoises - gentle and wise creatures that had seen centuries pass. My husband knelt beside one, whispering, "Tell me your secrets, old man."
Later, at St. Pierre Island, we dove into the water, snorkelling amid vibrant coral reefs. Time dissolved as we floated in the arms of the ocean, surrounded by schools of fish that shimmered like liquid sunlight.

That night, back at our hotel in Praslin, we sat on our balcony and watched the moonlight dance on the water.
"Do you think the ocean has its own language?" I thought aloud.
"If it does," my husband said, sitting close to me, "I think it is telling us to stay a little longer."
Seychelles, A Love Story in Every Sunset

Our last few days in Mahe felt like a love letter from the universe.
We visited Takamaka Rum Distillery, where we tasted rum that burned sweet on our tongues. At the Tea Factory, the scent of freshly grown leaves filled the air, which was a reminder of how simple things hold the deepest beauty.
Moving forward, we walked beneath the shade of giant palm trees at the Seychelles National Botanical Garden to trace the curves of Coco de Mer (the largest nut in the world).
But it was at Baie Lazare Beach that we found our favourite moment. The sun dipped low, setting the sky ablaze, and we lay in the sand, hands entwined, listening to the symphony of waves.

"Promise me," I whispered, "that we will keep travelling like this. That no matter how busy life gets, we will always find time for the ocean."
My husband smiled, brushing a strand of hair from my face. "I promise. Wherever you go, I will follow."
Seychelles taught us the art of slowing down, the magic of stolen glances across candlelit dinners, the joy of salt on our skin, and the power of love whispered between ocean waves.
And maybe, just maybe, someday we will return. Because some love stories - like the sea - never truly end.
