The Art of Togetherness: Murali’s Thrillophilia Review for a Japan Trip

Marriage, like a perfectly crafted journey, is about balance, understanding, and cherished moments together. Mr and Mrs Murali were looking for a destination that was as special as their bond. After discussing for hours, they decided to visit JAPAN to celebrate their bond of togetherness.

In the hands of Thrillophilia’s dedicated travel consultants, Mr Tushar and Mr Rahul, their dream vacation began to take shape. The duo ensured every aspect of the trip was planned seamlessly while taking away any stress or worry from the couple, who were preoccupied with their Silver Jubilee celebrations.

The Journey Begins

Arriving in the busy metropolis of Tokyo, the Muralis were immediately struck by the city’s contrast of old-world charm and futuristic landscapes. From the sacred Meiji Jingu Shrine to the neon-lit streets of Shibuya Crossing, they experienced the electric rhythm of Tokyo. Mr Murali recalled that he could feel the city’s heartbeat and yet, in the midst of all, the temples and gardens gave us moments of peace and reflection.

Exploring the iconic Senso-ji Temple, enjoying the views from the Tokyo Skytree, and walking hand in hand through Ginza’s luxury avenues filled their days with intimate moments of connection.

No visit to Japan is complete without a glimpse of Mount Fuji, and standing at the base of this majestic peak was both humbling and incredible for the couple. Even the journey to the 5th Station was a reminder of Japan's deep connection to nature.

The steaming hot springs of Hakone allowed them to immerse in the natural beauty of Japan. They also enjoyed the ropeway ride over the volcanic Owakudani Valley and a tranquil cruise on Lake Ashi.

Osaka and Kyoto are the Souls of Japan

To Mr and Mrs Murali, Osaka provided a constant variation with its busy streets, rich culinary scene, and historic landmarks. Exploring Osaka Castle and wandering through the neon-lit streets of Dotonbori introduced the couple to the dynamic city life of Japan.

In the ancient capital Kyoto, they found themselves attracted to the timeless beauty of the Golden Pavilion, Kinkaku-ji, and the enchanting bamboo groves of Arashiyama. The sacred shrines, tranquil gardens, and the deep cultural roots of the city made their experience both spiritually enriching and personally fulfilling.

Mrs Murali felt a little emotional upon visiting Hiroshima. Standing in the Peace Memorial Park, they reflected on the resilience of the Japanese people. The experience at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum also left them moved and reminded them of the fragility of life and the importance of peace. They thought to themselves how unpredictable life could be and how much they were thankful for it.

After days filled with sightseeing and emotional journeys, the couple indulged in one of Japan’s most unique experiences: a dip in the rejuvenating waters of an onsen. Staying at a traditional ryokan, they enjoyed a quiet moment of togetherness. Moreover, soaking in the warmth of the natural hot springs melted their worries away in the embrace of nature. It was the perfect way to unwind and reflect on their journey, both as travelers and as life partners.

Embracing the Essence of Japan

Mr Murali wanted to experience the culture of Japan, so they decided to join a traditional tea ceremony in Kyoto. As they sat on tatami mats, they saw the meticulous process of preparing matcha tea. Mrs Murali noted that tea-making in Japan is an art. Moreover, the serene atmosphere allowed them to connect with each other and the traditions of the country. The simple act of sipping tea together became a moment of intense connection, which reflected their love that had grown over the years.

When the lady prepared the tea, the couple watched her select the finest green tea leaves and crush them into a fine powder with a stone mill.

Mrs Murali whispered, “Look at how carefully she measures the water. It looks like she is weaving magic.”

After the tea was served, the couple was invited to bow their heads slightly in gratitude before taking their first sips. The warm and earthy flavour surrounded their senses and they exchanged smiles with appreciation. “It is so much more than just drinking tea, it is about mindfulness and presence.”

Tea making is a simple thing for them, yet in Japan, they felt the connection between the past and the present as they participated in a ritual that had been cherished for generations. In a world that often feels rushed, it reminded them to slow down and appreciate the little things.

Once they finished the tea, they were invited to participate in a small meditation session. The session allowed them to soak in the tranquillity of the space, making the entire experience memorable.

A Seamless Journey Worth Remembering

Every detail, from accommodation to travel logistics, was handled flawlessly, which allowed them to focus on each other. “Thanks to the incredible planning by Mr Rahul and the team,” Mr Murali noted, they were able to immerse themselves in Japan without a care in the world. It was indeed a journey of a lifetime.

The Japan trip of the Muralis was an opportunity to rekindle their bond, create new memories, and explore a country that celebrates both the past and the future. And in doing so, they found themselves falling in love all over again - not just with Japan, but with each other.
