Krish’s Grand European Adventure: A Thrillophilia Review

Krish’s Grand European Adventure: A Thrillophilia Review

I have always wanted to visit Europe, see its magnificent buildings, and try its local food. However, being so invested in my work, I never could actually take out time to plan this trip.

One day while having tea with my wife, I discussed that I needed a break and felt the urge to disconnect. It has been years that I have planned something for us or even taken a break from work for more than a day.

This is when my wife made me remember how much I used to talk about going to Europe and how many times I have planned a trip that was never executed in the end.

I realised that it was now or never. If I do not make the decision of taking a break for us now and finally visit Europe, I may never be able to fulfil my dream.

Next thing I know, I was online, searching for the best Europe tour packages on Thrillophilia’s website. These packages took care of almost everything and seemed perfect for us. So, without any further delay, I finalised one of the top trending packages from the site.

For anyone who is visiting Europe for the first time, I will always recommend a package. Since European tours include multiple countries, it requires meticulous planning along with a great deal of time and effort which can get pretty hectic for an individual. Additionally, this trip was my break and I simply did not feel like getting into the task of planning and booking.

A Voyage of Discovery!
My wife and I spent around 19 days in Europe and, honestly, it was one of the wonderful experiences of my life. These 19 days of much needed break truly rejuvenated me and reignited my passion for adventure and travel.

So come along and join me as I walk you through the best moments of my Europe travels!

Our trip started from the picturesque city of Amsterdam. As compared to other European cities, I believe Amsterdam had the most calm streets and relaxed vibes which made it a perfect start to our trip. Like I heard, it truly has an intriguing history, rich culture and friendly people who will welcome you with open arms.

Some of the iconic attractions that I was amazed to see in Amsterdam were the Anne Frank Museum and the Van Gogh Museum. During the tour, we also got to explore the various art galleries by some of the most well-known artists in history. Not to forget, we also enjoyed a scenic boat tour in Amsterdam which was a cherry on top!

Moving forward to our next astounding destination which was Brussels. There, we covered a few historical landmarks which gave us an insight into the rich history of the region, whereas, spent the rest of our time in leisure. Now if you ask me what all I saw in Brussels then the list goes like- Grand Place, Royal Gallery of Saint Hubert, St. Michael Cathedral and Mount of the Arts.

How did we spend our leisure time? Well, mostly hand-in-hand, wandering around the beautiful streets, meeting locals and trying various local dishes. To be honest, this kind of slow-paced trip was exactly what I needed.

From Brussels, we headed towards our next stop which was a beautiful small German city- Cologne. This city offered so much more to explore and see, however, due to our restricted time, we could only explore a few of the popular attractions. In my opinion, two of the best attractions were the Cologne Cathedral and Great St. Martin Church. In the end, we also visited the Old Market which had a rustic charm to it. We spent around 2-3 hours shopping there so that we could return home with the perfect souvenirs and gifts for our loved ones.

I think as per the itinerary, we spent the next two days in Berlin. Let me just start by the most amazing experience first, a beautiful cruise ride on the gorgeous Spree River. It was such a lovely experience that I am falling short of words to describe the beautiful moment. We passed through some of the popular landmarks of the city, got to witness a stunning sunset and even watched a bright day turn into a sparkly night.

We also did a hop-on-and-hop-off bus tour in Berlin and the best part was it had live commentary on board. So before reaching an attraction, we would hear interesting facts about the place which made us excited to see what our next stop looked like. Some of the amazing attractions that we explored were Berlin Cathedral, Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag Building.

Prague was an equally mesmerising destination which left us speechless with its beauty. We spent around 3 days in Prague which was equally divided into a leisure day, cruising day and a sightseeing day. One thing that I loved the most was that the 50 minute cruise ride included welcome drinks, buffet dinner and live music which made the evening even more magical.

We also did short trips to Vienna and Bratislava. Our top highlights of Vienna include Hofburg and St. Stephen’s Cathedral. In Bratislava, my core memory is when my wife and I danced together on the cruise on a romantic song. Both of these cities were amazing and after exploring them I only wished to have more time to explore what more they had to offer.

We spent the last days of our trip in Budapest- the capital of Hungary. Few things that I loved the most about this city are its remarkable architecture, delectable food and relaxing thermal baths. We covered a lot of attractions, Buda Castle, St. Stephen’s Basilica and Fisherman’s Bastion, to name a few. We also visited the Central Market Hall, enjoyed shopping and tried several local food items.

An End to the Most Amazing Trip!
At the end of the trip I realised that there is so much out in the world to explore. However, we humans remain stuck in our jobs and our daily life schedules.

On this trip, I got to know how many cultural variations can exist in a continent. Some cities shared boundaries but were completely different from each other. I also got to learn so much about European history and even learnt a few European phrases and common etiquettes. Additionally, after a long time, we got to skip our daily routine and try so many different foods at once.

None of this would have happened, if I hadn’t taken a step and decided to take a break from work.

So, hit pause, pack up, venture out and let the world be your escape!
