Chandini’s Honeymoon Trip Review: From Italy’s Romance to Spain’s Football Fever
"Is this really happening?" Chandini whispered to herself as she gazed out of the aeroplane window, watching the sun paint the sky in shades of pink and gold. Her husband squeezed her hand, breaking her thoughts, "It's happening. Our honeymoon. In Europe. Are you ready?"
It was their dream come true—Italy and Spain, the two countries they'd always dreamed about. And now, here they were, on their honeymoon, ready to make memories that would last a lifetime.
When in Rome, Do as the Romans Do
The moment their feet touched the streets of Italy, Chandini knew they were in for something special. "We wanted to keep Spain for the end, a grand finale to our football pilgrimage," she fondly recalls. But Italy had its own magic in store.
Chandini had always been fascinated by history, but stepping into the Colosseum was beyond what she had imagined. "I can almost hear the gladiators," she murmured, her voice trailing off in awe as she stood at the ancient arena, trying to absorb the weight of history surrounding them.
For the couple, it was about getting lost in narrow cobbled streets, discovering hidden cafes, and indulging in mouth-watering Italian gelato. “This pistachio flavour is life-changing,” Chandini declared, barely able to speak between bites.
And there was this one particular moment that came unexpectedly. They visited the Trevi Fountain, one of the most famous and beloved landmarks in Rome. It is believed that if you throw a coin into the Fountain you will return to this city someday. So, they did what Romans do and by throwing a coin, they created a lasting bond between the Eternal City and those who visit
Under the Tuscan Sun
Next up was Florence, the city of art, history, and romance. Chandini had read about the beauty of Florence, but nothing prepared her for the view from Piazzale Michelangelo.
“This is straight out of a painting,” she gasped, watching the city glow under the setting sun, the Arno River glistening beneath them.
But for them, the highlight wasn’t the view—it was the surprise her husband had planned. They had just returned to their hotel room, tired after a long day of sightseeing, when Chandini opened the door to find the room filled with rose petals, a bottle of champagne waiting on the table, and Perfect (our song) playing in the background.
A Tango with Spain and Tapas
As their Italian escapade ended, the thrill of Spain beckoned. Football fever was about to kick in, and Chandini’s excitement was palpable. "Barcelona has always been our dream city. We’re die-hard football fans, and Camp Nou was like a temple to us," she said, still feeling the goosebumps from their visit to the iconic stadium.
But Barcelona wasn’t just about football. Chandini and her husband wandered through the Gothic Quarters, admired the surreal architecture of the Sagrada Familia, and feasted on mouthwatering tapas and churros.
And just when they thought it couldn’t get better, Madrid entered the scene.
Madrid was more than just another city—it was football royalty. They explored the grand Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, stood in awe of the portraits of legendary players, and soaked in the stories of football history.
“We felt like kids in a candy store. This was what we had been dreaming about for years,” Chandini said, eyes twinkling.
Their tour also took them to the elegant Royal Palace and the vibrant Mercado De San Miguel, where they indulged in delicious Spanish wines and snacks.
One evening, they found themselves at a small tapas bar recommended by a local. “Let’s order one of everything,” Her husband suggested, and before they knew it, their table was overflowing with plates of patatas bravas, jamón ibérico, and gambas al ajillo. “We could get used to this,” Chandini laughed, savouring the flavours of Spain.
Their time in Madrid came to a close with a sunset stroll through the picturesque Retiro Park.
Tying it All Together with Vatican Magic
The final leg of their journey was Vatican City, a place Chandini described as “awe-inspiring.”
One day was enough to explore the grandeur of the Vatican Museums and the stunning Sistine Chapel, but the memories would last a lifetime.
"We stood beneath Michelangelo’s frescoes and just stared. It felt like we were part of something so much bigger than ourselves," Chandini said softly. They climbed to the top of St. Peter’s Basilica and soaked in the panoramic views of the smallest country in the world.
At that moment, with the city sprawling beneath them, Chandini realised that this trip wasn’t just about the places they visited—it was about the connection they felt, to each other, to history, and to the world around them.
The Final Whistle, But Not the End
As their journey drew to a close, Chandini couldn’t help but reflect on how perfect everything had been. “It was beyond anything we could have imagined. Thrillophilia made sure we had everything we needed, from the tiniest details to the biggest surprises,
We were glad that we were recommended Thrillophilia by one of our common friends even heard good things about them and we checked the reviews it seems that the travellers liked the trip and their service
Arrangements and everything were well beyond expectations. There are no words to describe how special the trip was for us...Thanks for making this memorable...I would recommend them over and over again.” she said with a smile.
Chandini's parting thought? “We’ll go back one day, I’m sure of it. And maybe, just maybe, we’ll relive it all—one surprise at a time.”
