Discovering the Wonders of Europe: Badar’s Family Trip with Thrillophilia

“I really miss the Chocolate Eclairs, Croissants and melted Cheese Pizzas of Paris!” said my wife while scrolling through the pictures of our Europe trip.

“That’s all you miss from our entire trip of 15 days? I added.

“Well, of course not, the mashed potatoes were great too!” she added jokingly, making everyone in the room burst with laughter.

“I did not know that I planned the entire trip so that my family could only remember about food in Paris.” I replied back with a teasing tone.

My daughter interrupted and said, “No, Dad! My favourite was Disneyland. You remember how huge Mickey and Pluto were. I wish I could ask them to come home with me.”

My wife added, “But you did bring them home with you. Remember the huge soft toys of Pluto and Mickey that you got from the gift shop of Disneyland?”

At this, my daughter chuckled and hid her face behind the pillow. Meanwhile my wife and I were unpacking our bags from the best trip of our lives!

How did we book the trip?
A colleague of mine suggested that I check out Thrillophilia’s website for our upcoming Europe trip. He assured me that the packages, services and itineraries offered by this company were the best. So, I went back home and started going through Thrillophilia’s website with my wife.

We really liked the ‘Discover Europe’ package. After all the discussion with my wife and the customer representative, I finalised the same package within a week. With my fingers crossed and hoping that everything would be the same as promised, I booked the flight tickets for me and my family and started packing for our trip.

I was actually impressed seeing how easy and smooth the booking process was. I was receiving the options on my Whatsapp and all I had to do was confirm which ones I like and it was added to my itinerary. Even the transaction was pretty convenient and hardly required much time or effort.

To Creating New Bonds!
So, the trip turned out to be way better than what I had expected. The itinerary was amazing, including the right amount of attractions and activities. We got to explore so many different places, some historically rich, some extremely beautiful while some full of entertainment.

One fact that truly enhanced our overall experience was our amazing fellow travellers.

So it was a group tour and our family was travelling with 45 other people from different parts of the world. I believe, at the end of our trip, we all became like a huge extended family. Some of us even exchanged our numbers and promised to stay in touch. We all played games, sang songs and even shared our food while we were on the bus, travelling from one place to another.

It was such a wonderful experience.

Not to forget, Michael was a great guide, who we met on this trip. Not only was he knowledgeable who kept enriching us with interesting details about the place but he was also extremely fun who kept us entertained throughout the trip. Even the kids loved him as he used to play with them while we were busy purchasing things, taking pictures or admiring the scenery.

Exploring the best of Europe!
My favourite destination was Rome.

Unlike others, I am extremely fascinated by history, ancient buildings and the rustic charm of a city. We explored a number of exciting places like the Capuchin Crypt, Bioparco di Roma and Basilica of Santa Maria. My favourite attraction was the Imperial Forum as I was amazed to see the architectural details of the ancient era.

We had a short one day trip to stunning places like Florence, Zurich and Venice. What I felt after exploring these places was that one day was probably not enough to explore such beautiful places, especially Venice.

There was so much to see and so much to do but probably, next time, I will only plan a trip to these three places and explore them properly.

My favourite ones in Florence were the Duomo Square and Palazzo Vecchio, whereas, the grand Hofburg Palace was our favourite of all in Zurich. The boat tour in Venice was a perfect blend of fun activity and a sightseeing tour.

Paris was our favourite destination. Our sightseeing tour of Paris included so much, starting from the Eiffel Tower, Norte-Dame de, Palace of Versailles and Louvre Museum. We even enjoyed a funicular ride from where we could overlook the entire city.

If you ask me, the highlight of Paris was the amazing cruise ride on the River Seine at night. We could see the Eiffel Tower sparkling and it's beautiful glittery reflection on the river.

Oh! And how can I forget about Disneyland!

It is a truly magical place and not just for kids but even adults can get fascinated by it. There were so many fun rides that we all enjoyed together, tried so many snacks, met Disney characters, clicked pictures and attended a few live shows.

It was a day that all of us enjoyed the most and my wife and I felt as if we were kids again.

Reminiscing about the beautiful trip!
“Can you call Michael and ask him to send the pictures of us on the cruise?” my wife asked.

“Yes, I will. The cruise ride was great, right? I think that was one such thing that all four of us enjoyed together.” I said.

“Com'on dad, I think you liked Disneyland the most.” my son added.

“Yes, we all saw how excited and jolly you were there. And oh my goodness! How you were screaming on the rides! You know it is okay to admit that you like Disneyland more than Rome, right?” my wife said keeping the clothes back in the cupboard.

“Hahahaha! Okay, alright! It was really fun to feel like a kid again.” I had to admit it now.

In between, the doorbell rings. My wife asks, “Who is it at this time?”

I replied, “No matter how much you miss Croissants or cheesy pizzas of Paris, I know your favourite was and always will be Chhole Bhature. I have ordered food for us. Let’s unpack later and enjoy our own Delhi’s Chhole Bhature!”
